Liverpool have had a £28m offer for Mohamed Salah rejected by Roma.

Skysports reports that Roma have turned down a bid from Liverpool for their star player.

However talks are still ongoing about the transfer of the Egypt international to Liverpool.

Chelsea signed the 24-year-old in January 2014 from Basel for £11m after he almost made a transfer to Liverpool.

The forward scored 15 goals in the League last season and grabbed 11 assists as Roma finished second on Seria A table.

Liverpool have already made a signing this transfer window, with Dominic Solanke to join the club on July 1.

The Reds are also interested in Southampton defender Virgil Van Dijk, who will cost them around £50m.
