The 26-year-old is set to be out of football action for three months after returning to London for surgery on his fractured ankle.
Hazard got injured with Belgium during training and Chelsea have now confirmed that he will be out for three months.
Further scan revealed that the injury is serious than first feared and national team doctor Kris Van Crombrugge said he will be out for three months.
“Hazard suffered a fracture in the bone,”
“Thankfully not in the shin. The scan only showed minimal lesion at the ligaments”, Van Crombrugge said.

“He will recover in about three months. Eden knows this is very realistic. He remains optimistic, even after this trauma. He will return as a top player. In three months he will just perfect.”
Belgium will have to play their next two World Cup qualifier games without their captain.
