Germany international Rudiger becomes Chelsea’s second signing this summer after signing Willy Caballero on a free transfer.
Rudiger underwent a medical after a 34m deal was agreed with Roma and pictures emerged of the German signing for Chelsea.
Conte has grown frustrated with Chelsea’s lack of transfer activity but will be happy to see the defender arrive.

On signing for Chelsea, Rudiger said: ‘It’s a great feeling because not every player has the opportunity to join a huge club like this.
‘I am looking forward to meeting up with my new team-mates and I’m very proud to officially become a Chelsea player.’
Chelsea manager is desperate for additions to the team to defend their Premier League title and also for their participation in Europe next season.
The blues have had a frustrating summer so far as deals for Bakayoko and Alex Sandro dragging, Man Utd also beat them to the signing of Romelu Lukaku.
