Liverpool have agreed a club record deal for RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita who will join the Reds after a year.
The 22-year-old has been the prime target for Klopp throughout the summer but was left frustrated by Leipzig refusal to let go of the midfielder.
Keita has an exit clause of £48m which can only be triggered in 2018, Leipzig were prepared to negotiate a deal with Liverpool so as to secure more cash.
Liverpool would have loved to sign the midfielder now but were happy to negotiate a deal that will see him move to Anfield next year.
The Guinea international, Keita made it clear he wanted to leave Leipzig but his club were unwilling to sell as they are preparing for Champions League.
Naby Keita will become Liverpool’s record signing in a deal worth more than £50m.
