Tottenham star Dele Alli has risked a possible disciplinary action from after been caught on cameras making a finger gesture which is was possibly directed at the referee, Clement Turpin in England’s 2-1 win over Slovakia.
The England international was frustrated after his appeals for a free-kick was waved away by the official following a foul by Skrtel. Although Turpin did not notice Alli’s gesture.
Gareth Southgate spoke to the player after the match and the midfielder suggested his gesture was aimed at Kyle Walker.
“I’ve not seen it but I’ve been made aware of it,” the England boss said.
“Kyle and Dele were mocking about, and Dele’s made a gesture towards Kyle. I don’t know what the angle picked up by the camera is, so I don’t know if that is clear. The pair of them have a strange way of communicating but that’s what they’ve said when it’s been raised.”
Although, Alli later posted on Twitter saying:
“Just to clarify, the gesture tonight was a joke between me and my good friend Kyle Walker! Apologies for any offence caused! Great win 2nite,”
