Jose Mourinho has reportedly challenged Henrikh Mkhitaryan to do more in big games against the top six as they continue their Premier League title bid.
Mkhitaryan struggled for form in the Premier League last season following his transfer from Dortmund.
However, the midfielder scored five goals in the Europa League including one in their 2-0 win over Ajax to claim the title.
Mkhitaryan has been instrumental to Manchester United’s three successive wins in the Premier League this season by contributing five assists, but Mourinho still doubts his ability to influence games the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.
According to ESPN, Mourinho wants the former Dortmund midfielder to step up his game against title rivals.
Mkhitaryan said during United’s pre-season tour that his job was to create chances for Lukaku and he has already assisted two of his goals.
Former Chelsea manager Mourinho wants him to prove himself against the ‘big’ teams in the league.
