Liverpool surrendered a 3-0 lead against Sevilla in the Champions League to see more questions asked about their defence.
Rio Ferdinand blasted Liverpool’s defence by saying they don’t know how to defend.
Liverpool looked comfortable in the first half after a 3-0 lead but Shambolic defending in the second half especially Alberto Moreno saw Sevilla come back to earn a draw.
Former Manchester United defender said: “The penalty for Moreno, the free kick for Moreno, the header for (Ragnar) Klavan, he could have headed that out in a different direction.
“This is a crucial time now, the couple of days towards the weekend are the time for the management to really galvanise and lift this squad up to try and take some positives.
“They are better on the front foot, but the best teams can mix and match, and at the moment this Liverpool team don’t know how to defend.
“They are good playing the way they did in the first half, but then you have to sit back and defend, soak up the pressure, and they have not been able to do that.”
Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson also failed to win a single tackle against Sevilla.
Liverpool can still qualify as winners of Group E if they win their game against Spartak Moscow.
Their next game is against Chelsea in the Premier League as Klopp look to try and address their defensive problems.
