Chelsea legend John Terry has heaped praise on Thiago Silva after the Brazilian’s superb performance in the 3-0 win over Tottenham.
The 36-year-old defender led from the back as Chelsea eased to a comfortable win over their London rivals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Silva opened the scoring with a towering header four minutes into the second-half of the clash with N’Golo Kante and Antonio Rudiger also getting one goal each.
The former Chelsea skipper Terry paid tribute to all three goal scorers on Instagram but reserved special praise for the veteran Brazil international.
‘Thiago Silva, what a man, what a player,’ Terry wrote on his Instagram stories after watching the Blues central defender head his team into the lead.
Thomas Tuchel also praised Silva for his important role in the London derby. He said: ‘Outstanding, He almost scored twice. He was so strong; Deliveries were good for his goals.
‘We are very happy that he was able to score to open the game for us today. ‘But the performance even in the first half was outstanding, fantastic. Well deserved, he was outstanding today.’

Chelsea’s win moves them level on points with Liverpool and Man United at the top of the league table having taken 13 points from a possible 15 points.
