Cristiano Ronaldo has ‘warned’ Benzema about working with Ten Hag at Man Utd

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly advised Karim Benzema about the experience of working with Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.

According to Javier Parra Pena, United is exploring a six-month loan arrangement for Benzema, who has had a moderate stint in Saudi Arabia.

Benzema has scored 15 goals in 24 appearances for Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League since leaving Real Madrid.

Recent reports suggest that he might be returning to Europe, with United closely monitoring the situation for a potential move in January.

Having been previously linked with a move to Old Trafford in 2009 before choosing Real Madrid, where he went on to score 354 goals in 648 games, Benzema could be contemplating a move to United.

However, he may consider Cristiano Ronaldo’s perspective on Ten Hag, his former Real teammate.

Ronaldo, speaking about the Dutchman in November 2022, stated that he “doesn’t respect” Ten Hag and accused the manager of attempting to force him out during the summer.

“I don’t have respect for him [Ten Hag] because he doesn’t show respect for me,” Ronaldo said on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

“If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you.”

The Portugal international also insisted it was Manchester United and Ten Hag who pushed him toward the exit.

“Manchester United tried to force me out,” he said.

“Not only the manager but the other two or three guys who are around the club [at the senior executive level]. I felt betrayed. I don’t care, people should listen to the truth. Yes, I felt betrayed. I feel that some people didn’t want me here, not only this year but last season too.”

Currently, Ten Hag has Rasmus Hojlund and Anthony Martial under his purview, with the former having scored only two goals in the Premier League and the latter being heavily rumored to be on the verge of departing.
