Los Blancos secured a 2-0 victory with Joselu scoring twice, propelling his team to the summit of the table, leading Girona by two points.
However, the Getafe vs. Real match was overshadowed by a reported incident between the English duo.
During the second half of the league fixture, Bellingham tackled Greenwood and allegedly made an offensive remark, which subsequently surfaced on social media.
Nevertheless, it is asserted that Getafe and Greenwood are reluctant to escalate the controversy surrounding the alleged insult.
According to Guillermo Rai, the internal stance at Getafe is that ‘what happens on the pitch stays on the pitch.’
As reported by Jose Felix Diaz, the Manchester United loanee is not inclined to stir up any ‘fuss’ regarding what Bellingham may have said during the match.
Regardless of Getafe’s position, La Liga has officially acknowledged receiving a complaint from the club.
A statement read: “Getafe yesterday transferred the complaint to the La Liga match director and La Liga, as it always does on these occasions, has requested an expert report on lip reading to investigate the matter and act on the basis of what can be proven beyond doubt (by the lip reader).”
The encounter between Greenwood and Bellingham marked their initial meeting since their transfers to Spain last summer.
Greenwood, on loan from Man United, joined Getafe, while Bellingham made the move from Borussia Dortmund to Real.
