Chelsea’s recent transformation has been marked by the standout acquisition of Cole Palmer, whose move from Manchester City, the previous Treble champions, to Chelsea for an initial fee of £40 million has proven to be a masterstroke.
Palmer, at just 21, has already outshone his previous goal tally at City, netting 14 goals in 34 appearances for Chelsea, surpassing the six he scored in 41 games for City, mostly as a substitute under Pep Guardiola.

In contrast, Mason Mount’s departure from Chelsea to Manchester United, for a fee of £55 million with one year remaining on his contract, hasn’t yielded the same immediate results.
Mount’s contributions at United have been limited, with only 13 appearances and seven starts across all competitions, largely due to injury setbacks.
Mount, who rose through the ranks at Chelsea, had a respectable scoring record of 33 goals in 195 matches.
However, a striking comparison has been drawn between Mount and Palmer’s performances at Chelsea, particularly in terms of assists from open play at Stamford Bridge.
Mount’s record stands at seven assists in 129 Premier League matches, while Palmer has already matched that assist count in just 23 league appearances.
This particular statistic that has left Chelsea supporters, engaging on the platform once known as Twitter, in awe of the young player’s impact.
