Arsenal to finalise their biggest-ever transfer after reaching an agreement

Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe is nearing a transfer to Premier League club Fulham as the 23-year-old prepares for a new chapter in his career.

The English player has spent his entire career at Arsenal, and many believed he was on track to become a superstar following his impressive 2021/22 season.

However, injuries have hindered his progress, and recent seasons have seen Smith Rowe fall down Mikel Arteta’s selection hierarchy.

The Englishman is not expected to get much playing time at the Emirates Stadium this season, and it would be wise for him to seek a new challenge.

It now appears that could be with Fulham, as the Evening Standard reports that the two Premier League clubs have agreed on a £35m transfer fee for Smith Rowe, which would be Arsenal’s biggest-ever sale.

The transfer is great business for the Gunners, considering Smith Rowe only played 475 minutes last season across all competitions.

The North London club can use the money to bring in new players, and if the transfer goes through, it seems to benefit everyone involved.

Fulham have not been the only club interested in Smith Rowe this summer, with Fabrizio Romano reporting Crystal Palace’s interest.

Oliver Glasner is said to be a big fan of the English talent and wanted to add the 23-year-old to his squad for the 2024/25 season.

It is uncertain if the South London club still has a chance to secure Smith Rowe, as it appears Fulham is very close to signing the Arsenal player.

A move to Craven Cottage should be positive for the midfielder, as he will be working with a top coach in Marco Silva.

The Portuguese manager should help the Gunners’ talent develop further after some challenging years in his career.
