Jorginho has shared how the Arsenal squad reacted to Erling Haaland’s impressive start to the season with Manchester City.
Haaland made an incredible impact in his debut Premier League season, scoring a record 36 goals, and has already netted another 27 in the 2023-24 campaign. The Norwegian forward continues to impress, showing no signs of slowing down.

In City’s recent 2-1 win over Brentford, Haaland’s two goals helped him surpass Wayne Rooney’s record for the most goals in the first four Premier League games of a season, solidifying his reputation as the league’s most lethal striker.
Despite Haaland’s remarkable tally of nine goals so far, Arsenal midfielder Jorginho finds the striker’s relentless scoring more amusing than concerning.
“Erling scoring again is starting to make us laugh! We laugh because we look at all the games and we love football,” he said.
Jorginho was quick to emphasise that rather than dwelling on Haaland’s feats, the Gunners are focusing on their strengths.
“It doesn’t get to our head. We need to focus on us and that is what we are trying to do,” he said.
With each match, Haaland continues to make his mark in the Premier League record books.
His 71st goal in just 70 games places him ahead of legendary forwards like Eric Cantona and Luis Suarez in the league’s all-time scoring rankings.
While Haaland’s scoring spree grabs most of the attention, Arsenal’s players emphasize that Sunday’s crucial Premier League encounter is about more than just one individual.
Mikel Arteta’s squad understands that they must flawlessly implement their strategy to achieve a positive outcome at the Etihad if they hope to dethrone City and claim their first league title since the 2003-04 season.
