Cole Palmer reveals two key qualities he needs to win Ballon d’Or

At 22, Palmer scored 22 Premier League goals and 25 across all competitions for Chelsea, earning him a nomination for the prestigious award.

With six Premier League goals already in the 2024/25 season, he’s determined to maintain his strong performance as he aims to be a key player for both England and his club.

While the 2024 Ballon d’Or race is expected to be a close contest between Palmer’s former City teammate Rodri and Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior, Palmer remains hopeful about his chances.

Known for his confidence in interviews, Palmer shared his thoughts on what it takes to win football’s top individual honor.

“It was a surprise to be recognised at that level so early in my career”, he told an interview with The Telegraph.

“It’s a huge honour. Winning it would be brilliant, and I believe with hard work and consistency I could get there.”

Chelsea fans will also be happy to hear Palmer’s commitment for the long haul at the club with his current contract running until 2033.

“Chelsea feels like home to me, and I’m very excited about what we can achieve together. I’m fully committed to the club and its future.”

The 2024 Ballon d’Or gala is set to be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France.
