Despite his measured tone, reports suggest Amorim was frustrated with the performances of several key players, including Diogo Dalot, Joshua Zirkzee, Rasmus Højlund, and Rashford. Owen Hargreaves, who was present at Portman Road, shared this insight.

According to Romano, Amorim has made signing a new left-back a top priority for the club heading into 2025.
“Manchester United WILL sign a new left-back or left wing-back,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.
“Ruben Amorim is very happy with Diogo Dalot in terms of player, professional, top leader – he is very happy. But they need a player who can cover that position on a regular basis so Dalot can play on the right. That is his position.
“Left-back remains a top priority and from what I’m hearing, even after the Ipswich game, the message from Ruben Amorim to Manchester United was that we need a player in that position in 2025.
“It could be in January or the summer, based on opportunities, price and several other factors. But Manchester United want to go for a player in that position.”
Romano also mentioned that Manchester United are keeping an eye on several potential options, including Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, who has also attracted interest from Real Madrid.
With Davies’ contract set to expire at the end of the season, he will be eligible to discuss pre-contract agreements with clubs outside Germany starting in January.
