Amorim is set to lead United out of the Old Trafford tunnel for the first time tonight, as the Norwegian champions visit.
Nearly 7,000 fans from Scandinavia are expected to travel to Manchester, marking the largest European away support in Bodo/Glimt’s history.
Eager to make the occasion memorable with his first victory as United manager, Amorim focused on lifting his squad’s spirits.
During a 15-minute window granted to media by UEFA regulations, cameras captured scenes from United’s training at Carrington yesterday.
Players emerged from the changing rooms with smiles, greeted by Amorim and his staff on the chilly training grounds.
Before diving into tactical preparations, Amorim orchestrated a lighthearted initiation to welcome back players returning from injuries.
Leny Yoro, who rejoined the squad after a lengthy absence, had undergone a similar initiation before the international break, and Amorim carried on the tradition.
He humorously encouraged Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martinez, and Luke Shaw to dash through a “tunnel” of teammates, who playfully cheered and patted them as they passed.
The team’s morale appeared high as the session began in earnest.
Martinez and Harry Maguire both resumed training ahead of the match, although Amorim confirmed that only Martinez would be available for selection.
Meanwhile, Shaw made his first appearance since February during Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town, while Mainoo remained an unused substitute.
Speaking about his debut home game since arriving from Sporting Lisbon, Amorim expressed excitement and a strong determination to secure three points.
“It will be a special time. I just want to win the game,” the 39-year-old explained in his press conference.
“Before the match, it will be like a new sensation. After the whistle, it will just be another game.
“We have a lot of games, and we are at the beginning of something. We will try to win every game, not just focus on this game and have a clear idea of how to play.”
