The angry reaction from Chelsea fans was caused by James writing to Mount: “Not many people understand what your going through but I have lived disappointment after disappointment after disappointment. The last time Mount completed a full 90 minutes in a Premier League match was in January 2023, highlighting his unfortunate run of injuries since his transfer last summer.
The 25-year-old is currently undergoing treatment again, and his England teammate James is also battling persistent hamstring issues. Both aim to return to action early next year.
While Enzo Maresca is eager to have James back on the field, Chelsea’s depth has allowed the team to perform well without their captain.
