Recent claims suggested that United would ‘reluctantly’ consider significant offers for some of their players in order to comply with profit and sustainability regulations.
In the past few days, Italian Serie A giants Napoli have been strongly linked with a move for Garnacho.
It is reported that the 20-year-old is open to the idea of moving to Naples, and that Napoli have received the go-ahead to advance with the transfer.
However, fresh reports now suggest that a Premier League club has joined the competition.
According to Football Transfers, Tottenham Hotspur have inquired about Garnacho’s availability.
A source said, as per One Football: “For Tottenham, the South American fits the profile of a long-term successor to their talismanic captain Son Heung-min.”
Furthermore, the report indicated that Tottenham Hotspur is contemplating an initial offer in the region of £58 million.
After Spurs’ 2-1 loss to Arsenal, manager Ange Postecoglou expressed his dissatisfaction with the team’s performance, labeling it as ‘unacceptable.’
He said: “I just thought the first half in particular was just way too passive. We allowed Arsenal to control the game and we’re just nowhere near aggressive enough with and without the ball. And, you know, allowed them to sort of feel comfortable in the game and that’s not what we’re about.
“It’s unacceptable. It’s a big game, we should be ready for that. And I said we were nowhere near the team that we can be in that first half. Our league form’s unacceptable, the results are unacceptable and it needs to change… as I said, our form and our results are nowhere near good enough so we need to change that.”
Tottenham are back in Premier League action this weekend when they face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.
