Sporting’s Ousmane Diomande has caught the attention of two London clubs.
Manchester United were recently linked with Diomande, likely due to former Sporting manager Ruben Amorim’s move to Old Trafford to succeed Erik ten Hag.
No formal offers have emerged from United, and sources close to the player indicate that Chelsea and Arsenal are currently the frontrunners to sign him.
Additionally, sources reveal that Bayern Munich has expressed interest in the 21-year-old, presenting him with a significant career decision.
Diomande has a release clause of €80 million, but insiders believe that an offer between €50 million and €60 million might be enough to convince Sporting to part ways with him.
The player reportedly prefers a move to the Premier League, making it a challenge for Vincent Kompany to sway him otherwise.
Among the two London clubs, Chelsea seems to be in greater need of a defender like Diomande. With three clubs pursuing Chelsea’s Axel Disasi, and other central defenders possibly leaving the club this winter, the Blues could greatly benefit from Diomande’s arrival.
At Stamford Bridge, transfer windows typically involve significant player movement.
From Arsenal’s perspective, there is no immediate need to replace either Gabriel or William Saliba. Diomande is unlikely to join Arsenal to play a secondary role.
