Manchester United might be involved in a significant transfer move even though the window closed a week ago.
It’s only been seven days since the winter transfer window officially ended, yet fans of top European clubs are already clamoring for new signings.
Manchester United supporters, in particular, were frustrated by the club’s inactivity during the window, as the team focused more on player departures than on reinforcing the squad. ..Continue Reading
It seems that Ruben Amorim’s transfer activities are not finished yet, as United are already working on a new transfer that could be finalized later this month.
While the transfer window for all European clubs is now closed until the summer, clubs outside the continent still have the freedom to make deals until the end of the month.
Although European clubs cannot purchase players from these foreign teams, they can still sell players.
According to Brazilian outlet Bolavip, via SportWitness, this is exactly what United is considering, as Brazilian club Flamengo has reportedly approached them to sign Casemiro this month.
The 32-year-old midfielder had been linked with moves abroad throughout January, with Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr showing interest, but no deal was reached.
However, with United eager to move Casemiro, a transfer to the Brazilian league, which has a window open until February 28, could be an ideal solution.
Former Chelsea defender Filipe Luis, now the manager at Flamengo, is said to have approved the move to bring the Brazilian international back to his home country in what would be a spectacular deal.
If a transfer happens this month, it appears a loan would be the most likely option, with United expected to cover the majority of Casemiro’s substantial salary.
According to Capology, the Real Madrid legend currently earns an astonishing £350,000 per week at United and is under contract until June 2026.
Despite his hefty wage, Casemiro has struggled to secure regular playing time this season, making only 14 Premier League appearances so far.
