An Arsenal player has spoken highly of a Real Madrid star who has fallen out of favor and is rumored to be considering a move to North London this summer.
Recently, former Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold was officially introduced as a Real Madrid player, joining a growing list of arrivals competing for a place in Xabi Alonso’s squad. ..Continue Reading
Dean Huijsen has also completed a transfer from Bournemouth, while Luka Modric, Lucas Vazquez, and Jesus Vallejo are nearing the end of their contracts.
Alonso will have key players like Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, and Vinicius Junior in his squad next season, but the future of another forward remains uncertain.
Rodrygo has been linked with a possible exit after falling out of favor in the latter stages of the previous campaign.
Reports suggest Arsenal is interested in signing him, though financial constraints could make a deal challenging.
The Brazilian winger is under contract with Real Madrid for several more seasons and carries a substantial price tag, according to various sources.
Arsenal defender and Rodrygo’s international teammate, Gabriel, was asked about the player during a recent interview and praised his talent, fueling speculation about a potential move to the Emirates Stadium.
Gabriel said: “I don’t know [if Rodrygo will join Arsenal]. But I’d like it obviously. He’s a phenomenon.
“I’ve told people already, he’s a phenomenon! If it was up to me, of course!”
And this is the not the first time a fellow professional has given Rodrygo high praise, as Bellingham named him as Madrid’s most talented player in February.
“Rodrygo, so underrated, you know?” Bellingham said when speaking to CBS Sports Golazo.
“For me, he’s probably the most talented and gifted player in the squad.
“I think the things he can do with the football… We’ll be messing around, and he’ll flick the ball up somehow, and you’re like: ‘How’d he do that?’ I’m trying to do that.
“I’m twisting my ankles and everything like that. It’s a pleasure to play with both of them.
“You put them in positions where they can affect the games, and they will win it for you.”
But, a move to Arsenal may not be on the cards after all, with UOL claiming that Alonso has told Real Madrid’s hierarchy that he’d like the winger to stay at the club.
