Manager Ruben Amorim is eager to overhaul his squad and has already brought in Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million, along with young talents Diego Leon and Enzo Kana-Biyik, who’ve joined the ranks at Old Trafford.
The transfer window is expected to bring more movement, with several big names—Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia—reportedly on the chopping block.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Rashford has rejected a lucrative offer from the Saudi league.
The outlet claims Rashford is instead holding out for a switch to Barcelona, who are interested in a loan deal with a purchase option valued between £30m and £40m, following their failed bid for Nico Williams.
Barcelona had been ready to activate Williams’ release clause, but the winger opted to commit his future to Athletic Bilbao, signing a new 10-year deal.
United are also linked with Fiorentina’s Moise Kean, whose contract contains a release clause set to expire today.
Kean, now 25, enjoyed a strong season with Fiorentina, scoring 25 goals in 44 appearances, and is currently available for €52 million (£45 million) if the clause is triggered by July 15.
He previously spent time in the Premier League with Everton, though his stint was underwhelming—netting only four goals across 39 matches.
The Manchester Evening News reports that young defender Godwill Kukonki has signed his first pro contract with the club.
Kukonki, 17, is viewed as a bright prospect and featured in United’s senior squad multiple times last season, with Amorim expressing confidence that the youngster is “ready” for top-flight action.
“He impressed me a lot, so it’s also a sign to the youth players that they can be here,” Amorim told MUTV back in December.
“If something happened with the first-team squad, they have to step up and I think he’s ready, he’s very adult to handle the demands of the Premier League.”
