After the match, Rashford expressed how much he was enjoying life in Spain.
“That is what I am here to do – to help the team win, but also to try to improve and be the best that I can,” he told TNT Sports at full-time.
“It is an amazing experience. I have always been a huge admirer of Barcelona, most people my age have watched them play from when we were younger.”
Despite his recent form, Rashford was not included in the starting XI against Getafe after reportedly showing up late to a scheduled team meeting on Sunday, according to Fernando Polo.
Flick, known for his strict approach, has made it clear that tardiness won’t be tolerated, and players are fully aware of the consequences.
Rashford made his mark off the bench, assisting Dani Olmo for Barcelona’s third goal in the match.
After the final whistle, Rashford posted on Instagram to celebrate the win, writing: ‘+3 points. Let’s go team’.
He also shared a photo from the game on his Instagram story, accompanied by the Jaws theme music—suggesting he’s just getting warmed up.
Although Flick chose not to start him, the manager has spoken highly of Rashford and admitted he was eager to bring him to the club.
Flick told reporters: “When we had this chance, we said, ‘Okay, we have to do it’.
“I spoke with him before everything, going in the right way. I said, ‘I want you, I want you in my team’, and 100 per cent I’m happy because he’s an outstanding player.”
