Since arriving in Spain, the England international has scored three times and provided five assists in ten outings across all competitions.
Just weeks ago, Rashford stole the spotlight with a two-goal performance that helped Barcelona defeat Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League.
Thanks to his strong start, reports have surfaced suggesting Barcelona are prepared to make his temporary stay permanent.
According to SPORT, via Tribal, the club is reportedly set to activate the purchase clause in Rashford’s loan deal, though discussions around the fee continue due to financial constraints.
Barcelona can finalize the deal for £26.2 million, but Rashford — whose contract with Manchester United runs until June 2028 — may need to accept a reduction from his current £315,000 weekly wage.
Meanwhile, another Barcelona figure could be on his way out at the end of the 25/26 campaign.
As reported by Sport, the club has unexpectedly decided not to extend Robert Lewandowski’s contract.
At present, the iconic Polish forward is set to become a free agent when his current deal expires next summer.
There are suggestions that Barcelona’s leadership believes Lewandowski can no longer press with the intensity Hansi Flick demands.
Additionally, at 37 years old, there are concerns that Lewandowski’s performance levels are beginning to wane.
Since joining from Bayern Munich in 2022, Lewandowski has netted 105 goals in 156 appearances for Barcelona.
When asked recently about Lewandowski’s future, sporting director Deco commented: “We’re not going to talk about renewals in October. We’re taking it step by step.
“He’s (Lewandowski) one of the best strikers of recent years, a top-level player. He’s helped us a lot. He’s scored more than 40 goals, but we will analyse it. It’s time to talk about getting injured players back.”
