Despite his contributions, Lewandowski’s deal is set to expire at the end of the season, and the club is reportedly exploring options for a top-tier successor to take his place.
While Ferran Torres and loanee Marcus Rashford are both capable of spearheading the attack, speculation indicates that the Catalan giants are targeting Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic.
The Serbian striker was previously linked with a transfer last summer, and Tuttosport reports that he remains on Barcelona’s shortlist.
According to sources, sporting director Deco has already initiated talks with Vlahovic’s representative Darko Ristic regarding a potential move.
Vlahovic, who joined Juventus from Fiorentina for £58.3 million in 2022, is also approaching the end of his contract and has yet to agree on new terms with the Italian club.
He is reportedly more inclined to seek a fresh challenge and would prefer to leave on a free transfer rather than during the January window.
With four goals and one assist in eight games this season, he has also drawn interest from Bayern.
Still, many Barcelona fans are skeptical about the idea of signing Vlahovic, believing he may not be the right fit to lead the line.
One fumed: “I’m sorry but how’s he better than Ferran? I mean okay there aren’t many options, so just look for a young striker for the future.”
A second slammed: “I said it before and i’ll say it again, Deco gonna ruin my club.”
A third added: “This kind of signing will be the end of Laporta’s presidency trust me.”
A fourth opined: “Please! Please, just no We should go all in for Alvarez.”
A final person said: “I would rather have a walking Lewandowski playing for us instead of a fully fit Vlahovic.”
Vlahovic has scored 62 goals in 153 appearances for Juventus, including 17 across all competitions last season.
