Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring for Xabi Alonso’s side, followed by an equalizer from Fermin Lopez for Barcelona, but Bellingham’s strike just before halftime secured all three points.
Late in the game, tempers flared, resulting in red cards for Madrid’s substitute Andriy Lunin and Barcelona’s Pedri.
Madrid’s victory extended their lead over Barcelona to five points at the top of La Liga.
During the match, Bellingham was seen making a gesture toward his crotch while sticking out his tongue.

This was the same action that previously got him into trouble during England’s 2-1 win over Slovakia at Euro 2024. UEFA fined him £25,000 and issued a suspended one-match ban, which has since expired.
Real Madrid players have been involved in similar incidents before, including Gareth Bale’s gesture against Atletico Madrid in 2019.
Bale avoided punishment, and Bellingham will be hoping for a similar outcome.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick was recently shown a second yellow card for a gesture in their victory over Girona.
After the match, Flick said he would have to ‘change his behaviour’ for his grandchildren.
Cristiano Ronaldo also received a one-match ban and fine for ‘provoking’ fans with a similar gesture while playing for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
Despite the controversy, Bellingham was thrilled to finally defeat Barcelona.
The Catalan side had won all five meetings last season, including the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana finals.
Bellingham said: “We were really waiting for this game. We know we lost to them multiple times last season, so we were waiting for this and we needed to win.
“This was a team win, a team effort. Defensively, Militao, Huijsen, Carreras, Fede, Carvajal, they were all so good.”
He later posted on Instagram: “Talk is cheap. HALA MADRID SIEMPRE!!!”
His display earned praise from Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso.
The coach said: “He’s had three very good games. We knew before the last break that he needed time, minutes, to get going.
“He’s done better than we expected after the last break. Jude is all about feeling, communicating, and connecting.
That’s why he’s had some very good games.”
After being left out of Thomas Tuchel’s latest England squad, Bellingham hopes his strong form for Real Madrid will earn him a recall, with matches against Serbia and Albania coming up later this month.
