Reports indicate that Chelsea are monitoring Alvarez’s situation at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. ..Continue Reading
Since his move from Manchester City in 2024, the 25-year-old has been a standout performer for Atletico. In his first season, Alvarez scored 29 goals across 57 matches.
Although Chelsea added Joao Pedro and Liam Delap to their squad over the summer, many supporters of the Club World Cup winners are eager to see Alvarez join. Numerous fans have taken to social media to push for the transfer.
One Chelsea fan on X expressed their enthusiasm: “He is welcome to Chelsea.”
Another supporter endorsed the move, saying: “Get him and we good to go.”
A third fan urged urgency: “Get him already pls.”
One user shared how much the signing would mean to them: “If Chelsea should sign this guy, I would be the happiest person.”
Another fan admitted doubts about the deal but still hoped for it: “As much as I would love him at Chelsea, I just don’t see the deal happening.”
A similar view was echoed by another supporter: “Alvarez to Chelsea sounds impossible, but anything is possible in football. He would be a great signing.”
Alvarez also has admirers within the Chelsea squad, including fellow Argentine Enzo Fernandez.
Back in May, Fernandez named Alvarez when asked which Argentina teammate he’d bring to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea may be drawn to Alvarez’s Premier League experience.
During his time at Manchester City, he made 103 appearances and scored 36 goals. If not for Erling Haaland’s dominance in the squad, those numbers could have been even higher.
That history might leave Alvarez feeling he has unfinished business in England’s top flight.
Enzo Maresca has had to navigate most of the 2025/26 campaign without Cole Palmer, who has struggled with fitness.
Palmer has started only two matches this season, including one against Manchester United where he was substituted in the first half.
Interestingly, Chelsea are one point ahead of where they were at this stage last season despite Palmer’s absence.
Still, many fans are left wondering how much closer to the summit they might be had he been available. The Blues currently trail leaders Arsenal by six points.
