The Real Madrid forward’s future has recently come under scrutiny, with little progress on his contract talks and a noticeable dip in his performances. ..Continue Reading
Although Vinicius is tied to a deal until 2027, he hasn’t been a guaranteed starter under Xabi Alonso, whom he directed frustration toward after being substituted during El Clasico.
Following a visible show of anger, he seemed to suggest he might leave Los Blancos.
According to DAZN, Vinicius said: “Me? Coach? Coach, me? It’s always me. I’m leaving the team. It’s better I leave.”
He later apologized for his behavior. That episode occurred last month, but transfer rumors persist, with Fichajes reporting that Manchester United are actively pursuing the Brazil international.
It’s reported that they view Vinicius as someone capable of “igniting a new era and taking on a leadership role,” and are prepared to submit a staggering £176 million offer, which they see as a long-term strategic investment.
Vinicius remains under contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2027, with Real “evaluating the possibility of closing a chapter” and considering this the “best opportunity to secure a historic return” on the 25-year-old.
However, such a transfer would be extremely challenging for United, given the financial implications and their £200 million summer spending spree.
Chelsea have also been mentioned in connection with Vinicius, though transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has dismissed those claims, citing the club’s wage structure as a barrier to any potential deal.
“From Spain in the recent days… let me say it’s quite typical in the international break, we also saw links between Vinicius Jr and Chelsea,” he explained.
“Some reports in Spain saying that Vini is probably one of the players being considered by Chelsea in case he decides to leave Real Madrid.
“Guys, what I can tell you is it’s not about the quality of this player, it’s not about like or don’t like players like Vinicius. But Chelsea are going in a different direction.”
Vinicius joined Real from Flamengo in 2018 and has since netted 111 goals in 339 appearances, helping the club to three La Liga titles and two Champions League triumphs.
Back in 2022, he was asked about the possibility of playing in the Premier League one day but made it clear he hoped to remain at Real for the duration of his career.
“It is true that I’m very happy here at Real Madrid and I think I will play here until the end of my career,” he told SPORTbible in an exclusive interview.
“Of course, experiencing another league is important and I think the Premier League is a league that every player wants to play in.
“But my dream is and always was to play for Real Madrid.”
La Liga leaders Real are set to return to action on Sunday with an away match against Elche.
