The defeat marked Liverpool’s sixth in their last seven outings on Saturday (November 22), as Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest secured another win at Anfield — their second in as many seasons — leaving the reigning Premier League champions in 11th place. ..Continue Reading
Post-match, captain Virgil van Dijk urged his teammates to accept accountability for the team’s slump, with the side now trailing league leaders Arsenal by 11 points after their 4-1 victory over North London rivals Tottenham, highlighted by Eberechi Eze’s hat-trick on Sunday (November 23).
Liverpool’s high-profile summer additions — Milos Kerkez, Florian Wirtz, and Alexander Isak — have yet to deliver the expected impact, despite supporters beginning the campaign hopeful of defending their title following a £415 million transfer outlay.

Should performances fail to improve, scrutiny will intensify, with doubts already surfacing about Slot’s future — despite his achievement of leading the team to the league title in his debut season.
After Saturday’s result, former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp commented that the Merseyside club “need to be patient” instead of rushing to part ways with Slot amid the current downturn.
On his YouTube channel, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano shared insights into what he termed a “dangerous” situation.
“At the moment, I don’t have any sort of information on Liverpool owners deciding to take a decision imminently,” Romano explained. “So I mean now, today, tomorrow. So Liverpool are not thinking about changing the manager now.
“Obviously, they (owners) want to see a different kind of results, different kind of performances. They expect much more by Arne Slot and by this team.
“So for sure Liverpool want to see something different from the manager and from the players because this is not only Arne Slot.”
Romano also stated that Liverpool “are not in talks” with any alternative managerial candidates, though he emphasized that results “need to change” soon.
Slot himself acknowledged that certain tactical adjustments made during the Forest match “didn’t work” and reiterated that whether things “go well or bad,” the responsibility ultimately falls on him.
