On Monday evening, United endured their fourth Premier League defeat of the campaign, falling 1-0 at home to a ten-man Everton side. ..Continue Reading
Idrissa Gueye received a red card just 13 minutes into the game after slapping his teammate Michael Keane, yet Everton still managed to take the lead before the 30-minute mark through Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Even with a one-man advantage for the majority of the contest, United failed to generate meaningful opportunities and were met with boos at full-time.
Dorgu began the match in the left wing-back role but was taken off after 58 minutes, replaced by Diogo Dalot following a tough outing.
The Danish full-back has now drawn attention for liking an Instagram post criticising Amorim and two of his teammates.

The post featured a screenshot of a comment from X that stated: “Any coach that sees Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes as a viable pivot is one that isn’t serious.”
Engaging with content that targets his coach may be interpreted as a challenge to the authority Amorim has been trying to instil at Old Trafford since taking charge just over a year ago.
Amorim’s forerunner, Erik ten Hag, encountered comparable issues and recognized the value of overseeing how players behave on social media.
For instance, when Alejandro Garnacho was substituted at half-time during a match against Bournemouth in April 2024, he also liked posts critical of the decision.
At the time, United referred to the matter as an “internal matter” and Ten Hag later stated that Garnacho apologised.
“Alejandro is a young player and has to learn a lot,” Ten Hag remarked. “He apologised for it and after that we move on.”
It appears that United may adopt a similar approach in addressing Dorgu’s activity internally.
The Instagram post he engaged with took aim at United’s midfield, an area that has posed challenges for the team over multiple seasons.
While Casemiro has improved this season, his age—33—means he often finds it difficult to complete a full match.
Bruno Fernandes is naturally an attacking midfielder and sometimes lacks the required discipline for a more defensive or box-to-box role.
Still, Amorim has limited options in midfield. Although Kobbie Mainoo is hugely popular amongst supporters, his performances this season have not met expectations.
The young England international entered the game as a substitute against Everton but was unable to make a significant difference.
At the same time, Manuel Ugarte has struggled to adjust to the Premier League since he moved from PSG in 2024.
Amorim previously coached Ugarte at Sporting CP and has recently pointed out the Uruguayan’s need to improve, particularly in training.
