Since joining the Championship outfit in September, the young full-back has made a strong impression during his time in Yorkshire.
Even with the financial difficulties faced by the club, Amass has remained a reliable presence, featuring in every Championship fixture since arriving at Hillsborough and completing the full 90 minutes in each of his last ten games.
The promising defender, who recently netted his first senior goal against Southampton, has made a smooth transition to the demands of senior-level football. United brought him in from Watford in August 2023.

The club is said to be encouraged by Amass’ development during his loan, prompting the decision to prolong his time at Wednesday.
Key personnel at United are confident that Amass has made notable strides during his initial months with the Championship side.
Henrik Pedersen, the manager of Wednesday, has commended Amass for his performances, noting that the loanee has proven he can hold his own among the league’s top talents.
In a conversation with the Sheffield Star, Pedersen shared his thoughts on Amass: “The young man who came into Sheffield Wednesday and the young man who just left the stadium today are two different humans.
“And they are two different players. His progression has been amazing and, for a young player like Harry, he came with a lot of energy, but then the Championship always come knocking with three games in a row.
“It is tough, but he keeps on playing. This week, against West Brom, against Norwich, against Southampton, he showed against three good teams that he can compete with them.
“It’s not only that he can compete but he can be dominant in some phases. So I think he has done a big development as a player.
“What I see is a young man who has started to have a big knowledge about himself as a human, who he wants to be, who he doesn’t want to be.
“He has started to control when his mood comes down to be more stable. I see a young guy who has started to be physically stronger.
“He runs more, he has started to sprint more, he has more accelerations and he starts to have smaller breaks in the game. He has started to be better between the phases of the game.
“I like him. He is a good boy, he is a good player and he loves to learn. We love to have him here.”
