Two Liverpool players told ‘their time at the club is up’ after Sunderland draw

However, Wirtz’s wait for a Liverpool goal continues, as the Premier League later ruled the goal an own goal by Nordi Mukiele.

Though fans have grown accustomed to disappointment this season, their irritation with certain players remains intense.

During the game, Ibrahima Konate once again drew criticism from fans, especially after reports suggested Real Madrid had ended interest in signing him on a free transfer next year.

One fan wrote: “Not sure what planet Ibou Konate is on this season but it certainly isn’t earth, all over the place yet again.”

Another added: “I can’t believe some of the things Konate is doing out there.”

This followed the French defender’s public reply to Jamie Carragher’s critique of his recent performances.

“We have to take this moment on the chest,” he wrote on X.

“Criticism is part of football, and we’ll fight back every time and come through this storm.”

Konate wasn’t the only one targeted, as Joe Gomez also faced backlash for his showing.

“Joe Gomez is the worst player I’ve ever seen for Liverpool he’s terrible. I’m embarrassed to watch him play for us. Closely followed by Konate,” one fan posted.

Another fumed: “Get Joe Gomez and Konate off the squad.”
