Borussia Dortmund are set to announce the signing of Birmingham City’s teenage midfielder Jude Bellingham, according to ESPN.
The 16-year-old has been a transfer target for Manchester United and Chelsea but he now appears to be heading for a transfer move to Dortmund.
Although, Bellingham is unable to sign a professional contract until June 29, when he will turn 17, but the deal is believed to be all but completed.
Dortmund will pay a training compensation fee of around £20m for the player and he will finish the campaign with Birmingham, who are playing in the Championship.
Bellingham went for a tour of Manchester United’s training facilities in Carrington before the Covid-19 pandemic, but has opted for the Bundesliga club who are known for giving young players first-team chances.
Bellingham is expected to link up with fellow youngsters Erling Haaland, Jadon Sancho and Gio Reyna in the senior team next month at Dortmund.

The lure of first-team football is said to have been the reason he chose to sign for the German side and they also have a history of nurturing young players into the main squad.
Jadon Sancho signed for Dortmund as a 17-year-old from Manchester City and has gone on to establish himself as one of the best young players in the world right now.
Manchester United are believed to be the favourites to sign Jadon Sancho this summer window for a reported fee of £120million.
