Tammy Abraham in shock move to Arsenal from Chelsea

Arsenal have registered their interest in signing Tammy Abraham from Chelsea, according to reports.

Chelsea are looking to sell Abraham this summer as the England striker failed to secure a regular role in the team after Thomas Tuchel replaced Lampard as manager at the end of January.

The Blues are holding out for a £40m transfer fee for Abraham, with West Ham and Aston Villa already believed to be in the running to sign the player.

But according to The Telegraph, the Gunners are also interested in signing Abraham, who is a boyhood Arsenal fan and idolised Thierry Henry while growing up.

However, the report claims that the London club will need to sell players first before they can meet Chelsea’s £40million valuation.

Arsenal are already open to offers for Alexandre Lacazette, whose contract will expire next summer, while Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira are both expected to leave the club.

Abraham, meanwhile, has scored 21 Premier League goals in his last two years for Chelsea but Tuchel wants the club to recruit Erling Haaland from Dortmund this summer.

Chelsea would be willing to include Abraham as part of their offer but Dortmund have insisted that Haaland will remain with them for at least one more campaign.

Any deal for the Norwegian forward, who has scored 57 goals in 59 matches for Dortmund, is expected to cost Chelsea around £150m.

And Dortmund’s head of first-team football, Sebastian Kehl, has stressed that the German club are intent on keeping Haaland this summer.

‘I have also read about the sum, but for us nothing has changed on this matter,’ Kehl said this week.

‘We are planning firmly with Erling, this has also been clearly communicated to him and his advisor. ‘He wants to play football, he feels comfortable with us and is hungry to score many goals for us this season.’
