Alisson Becker reveals Liverpool’s targets for this season

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has revealed the targets he’s hoping he and his team mates can achieve this season.

The Reds finished third in the Premier League last campaign despite suffering injuries to key players including Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Henderson.

Boosted by the return of Van Dijk, Liverpool have started the season in good form, winning both of their opening two games against Norwich and Burnley without conceding any goal.

Alisson believes the club should be looking to win every match this season, but conceded he was satisfied with where they finished in the league last campaign.

‘It [last season’s finish] was something great for us because at the beginning of the season if you look at where you are going to finish and you say third you are not too happy because we want to be champions at the beginning of the season,’ he told Sky Sports.

‘But with a lot of things that happened during the season, injuries, bad things with other players. Some of us struggled with performance as well but it was a great achievement to finish third giving the respect to other teams. It was a tough season, but this season we want more definitely.

‘I think [our aims for this season] are more than regaining the Premier League title. We want to win all the tournaments we can play, we want to win the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup. All the tournaments that is possible and this should be the goal for everybody.

Liverpool host Chelsea at Anfield on Saturday, as they both hope to continue their unbeaten starts to the new Premier League campaign.

They could welcome back Andrew Robertson to the starting lineup after he missed the opening two matches of the season due to the injury he picked up in pre-season.

‘I’ve trained today and I’ve had a full weeks training so let’s see what happens against Chelsea. But I will be ready, I’ll be ready to play and like I said I’ll hopefully be fit for the rest of the season now,’ he said earlier this week.
