Allegri tells friends he is keen to replace Sarri at Chelsea

Massimiliano Allegri has reportedly told his pals he is keen to take over at Stamford Bridge if Maurizio Sarri is named as his successor at Juventus.

Italian head coach Allegri won five Serie A league titles and four Coppa Italia trophies and led Juventus to two Champions League finals in five years at the club.

Sarri who has only spent a season at Stamford Bridge, leading the Blues to Europa League glory is the frontrunner to take over from Massimiliano Allegri.

And the former Napoli manager has held talks with Juventus and is said to be interested in joining the club this summer window after a turbulent spell in London.

If Sarri leaves, Chelsea could look to the experienced Allegri to replace him and the Daily Star repors that he has told friends the job ‘appeals’ to him. Another option Chelsea is Frank Lampard, the blues legend who took Derby County to the Championship play-off final.

Asked about his future after Chelsea’s Europa League win, Sarri said: ‘I need to talk to the club and make sure I know what I can do for Chelsea and what Chelsea can do for me.

‘I love the Premier League and I’m lucky I’m at Chelsea but at the end of each season you have to sit down and talk.

‘In my opinion, I deserve to stay at Chelsea but my opinion is not enough. I have a contract [for another two years]. At the moment, we are talking about nothing.’

Lampard, however, played down the links with his former club after Derby’s loss to Aston Villa at Wembley.

‘I’m not interested in speculation,’ he said. ‘I’ve got a two-year contract and I love working at this place. We’ll see what happens.’
