Amorim is also reportedly planning to part ways with goalkeeper Andre Onana, as per The Sun.
Onana joined United in 2023 after playing a key role in Inter Milan’s journey to the Champions League final, where they were defeated by Manchester City.
Known as one of the best ball-playing goalkeepers at the time, the Cameroon international has struggled to meet expectations in England, drawing significant criticism.

Reports suggest that Saudi Arabian clubs have shown interest in Onana, and Amorim is likely to approve his departure if an offer is made.
For potential replacements, Manchester United is reportedly considering Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens and Lille’s Lucas Chevalier.
Interestingly, both players have also been linked with Manchester City as they prepare for life after Ederson following his inconsistent performances this season.
Earlier in March, United’s chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe identified Onana as one of the players at the club receiving excessive wages.
Meanwhile, former Manchester United forward Louis Saha has criticized Onana’s displays, deeming them “not acceptable” while discussing his future at Old Trafford earlier this season.
‘If you don’t have a confident goalkeeper he has to be challenged,’ he said. ‘Those performances are unacceptable, it’s not normal!
‘There is a need for every player at Manchester United – apart from Bruno Fernandes – to feel threatened with competition.
‘No one has shown that they deserve anything in the next game. The manager can challenge and criticise them because it’s not good enough.
‘The backbone of this team, from the back four to the centre forwards, it’s so important that they don’t make mistakes.
‘Unless you can guarantee that you’re not going to make mistakes, you should not be considered as a guaranteed starter in any position. None of those players should be guaranteed anything.’
Onana is far from the only Manchester United player facing challenges within a squad currently positioned 13th in the Premier League standings.
Following the international break, Ruben Amorim’s team will resume their campaign on April 1 with a match against a soaring Nottingham Forest.
Despite their struggles this season, United still have an opportunity to turn things around by securing the Europa League title, which would also grant them Champions League qualification.
Their next hurdle will be the quarter-final clash with Lyon from Ligue 1.
