Ruben Amorim fires new dig at Rashford & makes damning claim about their relationship at Man Utd

Ruben Amorim seems to have taken a fresh swipe at Marcus Rashford following the Manchester United forward’s loan move to Aston Villa.

Rashford was officially unveiled by Villa on Sunday evening after signing a loan deal until the end of the season.

The agreement includes an option for Unai Emery’s side to purchase the 27-year-old in the summer for a reported fee of £40 million. ..Continue Reading

If Rashford’s loan spell proves successful, it appears he may have already played his final game for his boyhood club.

TalkSPORT claims that Amorim allegedly hinted that Rashford would not get another chance to play under him if he didn’t leave in January.

During his pre-match press conference ahead of United’s FA Cup clash against Leicester City, which kicks off at 8pm on Friday, Amorim made further comments about Rashford, nearly two months after his last appearance for the club.

He said: “Like we said before, we are fighting for our jobs until the summer and I am just focused on these games.

“Thankfully about Marcus, he is in Birmingham now with Unai, so you can take these questions to another coach.

“I couldn’t get Marcus to see the way you’re supposed to play football and to train the way I see it.

“It was my decision – and Ty [Malacia] and Antony – to do these loans and to keep some players even without any transfers.”

Amorim couldn’t find a direct replacement for Antony or Rashford during the transfer window, but he managed to sign Patrick Dorgu from Lecce, which facilitated Malacia’s loan move.

Speaking in his first official interview as a Villa player, Rashford commented: “It’s a club that’s in a good position in the league, and they’re pushing to get higher. Still in the Champions League, a good, ambitious manager and great talent in the squad.

“I’ve had to choose somewhere where I feel my style of football is suited to, and can help them and help me rediscover and improve as a player.

“Obviously it’s only short-term loan I’m here, so I want to make the most of my time here, and the only way to do that is by using my attributes and my skillset to help the team.”
