planning for the future without Rashford, with United reportedly setting a £60 million price tag for the forward ahead of Villa’s summer transfer window, as stated in reports.
Rashford joined Villa on loan in January and has contributed four assists in nine matches under Unai Emery’s guidance.
Before his departure, Amorim openly expressed dissatisfaction with Rashford’s commitment during training, resulting in the player being left out of United’s lineup since December 12.
According to the Daily Star, Amorim’s stance on Rashford remains unchanged, and he is prepared to let the England international leave permanently at the end of the season.
The report indicates that United is demanding £60 million from Villa for the deal, although earlier claims suggested a £40 million purchase option was included in the initial loan agreement.
Following Rashford’s exit, Amorim remarked that the forward had struggled to meet the expectations required after joining United from Sporting.
‘What I say is I couldn’t get Marcus to see the way you’re supposed to play football and to train the way I see it,’ said Amorim.
‘Sometimes you have one player who is really good with one coach and the same player with another coach is different.
‘I just wish the best to Rashford and Unai Emery and hope they can connect, because he’s a very good player. Thankfully, Marcus is in Birmingham now with Unai, so you can take these questions to another coach. We’re just focused on our players.
‘Some of the guys don’t adapt to the way I see football, the other guys adapt, and we’re trying to build the team. It’s something you feel, as a coach and a player.
‘It’s quite normal, it happened with a lot of coaches. The important thing is that I’m here, saying it was my decision.’
