According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the manager’s list of players to be sold includes Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount, both of whom arrived in big-money transfers.
Hojlund joined from Atalanta for £72 million, while Mount signed from Chelsea for an initial £55 million.
Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford, who are currently out on loan, are also reportedly on the chopping block.
Sancho moved to Chelsea following a disagreement with former manager Erik ten Hag, while Antony joined Real Betis and Rashford headed to Aston Villa during the winter transfer window.
Veteran midfielders Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, along with Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans, and Tom Heaton, are also rumored to be deemed surplus to requirements.
Despite a challenging start after taking over in November, Amorim recently led the team to the Europa League quarter-finals by defeating Real Sociedad.
Ahead of their second-leg victory, United official Omar Berrada provided insight into the club’s long-term plans, signaling significant changes on the horizon.
“We speak to Ruben [Amorim] very frequently. Ruben has a good relationship with Jason Wilcox. They both share the vision of how they want to see the team playing,” he revealed on TNT Sports.
Berrada added: “It is about planning properly for the summer transfer window and having a clear idea of what players we want to bring in. We’re making some big efforts to get us in the best financial position. Even if we’re outside of Europe – I think we will be in a position to invest in the squad.
“Our ambition is to win tonight and win the Europa League and be in the Champions League which is where I think we belong.”
