According to reports, the teenage sensation has signed a contract that will see him join Old Trafford next summer when he turns 18.
Manchester United are reportedly paying around £3 million for the young talent, with an additional £800,000 in potential add-ons.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims the transfer was finalized by technical director Jason Wilcox after scout Giuseppe Antonaccio advocated for the signing.
Leon’s anticipated arrival comes at a crucial time for United, who need more depth at left-back due to long-term injuries to Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw this season.
While Malacia is now fully fit, Shaw remains sidelined, and Amorim is reportedly pursuing left-backs like PSG’s Nuno Mendes and Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies.
Since Leon will not be available until summer 2025, Amorim is eager to secure one of these deals, while also addressing Marcus Rashford’s future.
The forward revealed in a shocking interview this week that he wants to leave the club, but former Sporting Lisbon boss Amorim has stated his desire to keep the England international at Old Trafford.
He said: “We are better with Marcus Rashford, that is simple and we will try different things to push Marcus to the best levels he showed in the past. And that’s all.”
