Ancelotti gives update on Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale leaving Real Madrid

New Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti says Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale will be important in the forthcoming campaign, when their futures had previously been uncertain.

Hazard has had a forgettable two years since his move from Chelsea, which set Real Madrid back just over £100million, returning only five goals and 43 matches.

Bale fell down the pecking order under Zinedine Zidane so much that he spent last campaign on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, scoring 16 goals in 34 games.

The fate of the two players depended on who replaced Zidane and Ancelotti is adamant that they have bright futures ahead at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Italian was in charge of the Spanish team during his first spell at Madrid when Bale arrived in 2013, saying he is also looking forward to working with Isco, Marcelo and Sergio Ramos for a second time.

‘I’ve just arrived,’ said Ancelotti on Wednesday. ‘Have to talk about Ramos with the club in the next few days. ‘I have a lot of love still for Gareth Bale, Isco, Marcelo… they will have motivation to show they can still play for Real Madrid.

‘Eden Hazard? He’s a top player, he’ll show his skills. Hazard and Bale can be so important for us.

‘Sergio Ramos is a very important player. I know there are talks… but I don’t know the details… when I do, I can say more. I’ll talk with the club about Ramos’ future.’

Ramos will be out of contract at the end of this month, so Ancelotti will have to talk with the club quickly if he wants to keep the defender at the club.

After confirming his exit from Everton on Tuesday, Ancelotti said: ‘I would like to thank the Board of Directors, the players, and the Evertonians for the tremendous support they have all given me during my time at the Club.

‘I have complete respect for everyone associated with Everton and hope they can achieve the exciting opportunities they have in front of them.

‘While I have enjoyed being at Everton I have been presented with an unexpected opportunity which I believe is the right move for me and my family at this time.’
