Antonio Rudiger aims subtle dig at three Chelsea teammates

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger fears the club are becoming overly reliant on Eden Hazard ’s incredible goalscoring form.

The Belgium international has been on form since Maurizio Sarri’s appointment and has scored eight goals in nine appearances for club and country this campaign.

Hazard was on target again in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, but the 27-year-old’s form in front of goal has been offset by concerns over the performances of Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata.

The former Arsenal forward has been hailed by Hazard as the perfect foil, but he has yet to find the net this season, while Morata hasn’t scored since the second game of the season.

Rudiger said: ‘We need to learn to kill matches. It’s not only on Eden’s shoulders. We need the other players to help him with scoring.

‘He has been doing his job very well again, but the other guys must score too – Giroud, Morata, Willian have to score. As a team all of us have to provide more goals, the defenders as well.

‘At the end of the day the best scorers are Hazard and Pedro, but with the quality of players we have on the pitch, it’s (the lack of goals from elsewhere) not too good.’
