But since the 25/26 campaign began, his form has dipped significantly, with just two goals and two assists to his name.
Liverpool recently suffered a rough patch, losing three games in a row to Crystal Palace, Galatasaray, and Chelsea.
As the international break kicked off, Salah featured for Egypt on Wednesday in a World Cup qualifier against Djibouti.
Salah scored twice, with Ibrahim Adel also finding the net, as Egypt secured a 3-0 victory and booked their spot in next year’s tournament in North America.
The Liverpool forward made it 2-0 after receiving a pass through the defence, and fans quickly noticed where he was positioned.
A video shared on social media showed Salah operating more centrally than his usual wide right role at Liverpool.
In response to the goal, Liverpool fans called on Slot to make changes.
One fan said: “Slot actually has Salah on the touchline instead of these positions smh, fix up asap needed man.”
Another tweeted: “Frimpong needs to start week in week out to hold the width and allow Salah to play on the inside, rather than hugging the byline for 70 minutes a game.”
A third fan added: “Lowk feel like Salah and Wirtz should be playing relatively narrow behind Ekitike/Isak. Let Kerkez and Frimpong hold width.”
However, someone else wrote: “Bro what are u talking abt? Salah even last season used to be on the touch line and drift in lol, plus he had like 3 chances against Chelsea.”
A fifth commented: “He had an all timer last season whilst hugging the touchline.”
Another fan said: “Where was he when he missed all his chances this season? In the middle!”
Once the international break concludes, Liverpool will host long-time rivals Manchester United at Anfield in the Premier League.
