The Premier League side is now on the brink of completing the move for the Swedish striker, with Gyokeres expected to arrive in London on Friday for his medical examination.
The 26-year-old is set to ink a five-year deal with Arsenal, earning close to €8 million (£7 million) annually in take-home pay.
Gyokeres will be Arsenal’s sixth summer acquisition, considered a marquee addition by Andrea Berta, joining fellow signings Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, and Cristhian Mosquera.
The financial package includes a guaranteed €63.5 million payment, plus €10 million in bonus clauses that are believed to be easily reachable—finalized after prolonged discussions with Sporting over payment terms.
Since moving to Portugal, Gyokeres has evolved into one of Europe’s top marksmen, racking up a remarkable 97 goals in 102 outings for Sporting across all competitions.
He played a crucial role in helping the club secure both the domestic league and cup last season, notching 54 goals, including six from eight appearances in his maiden Champions League run.
Looking ahead, Arsenal are expected to continue strengthening their front line, with Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze emerging as a prime candidate.
Talks are anticipated in the coming days, as Eze has reportedly shown interest in a switch to North London.
Negotiations over personal terms are expected to be smooth, and Arsenal remain optimistic about settling on a fee lower than his £68 million release clause.
