The Gunners have confirmed the addition of Victor Ozhianvuna, a 16-year-old attacker from League of Ireland outfit Shamrock Rovers.
Ozhianvuna is set to link up with the North London side in January 2027, once he reaches 18.
“The 16-year-old forward has already excelled at the senior level, making 16 first-team appearances for Shamrock Rovers in all competitions following his debut earlier this year,” according to Arsenal’s statement.
“In February, Victor became the second-youngest player to ever feature in the UEFA Conference League, coming on as a substitute in Shamrock Rovers’ second-leg intermediate stage fixture against Molde FK.
“His first goal came just a few months later in an FAI Cup second round victory against Wexford FC.”
Born in Tallaght, the teenager has played for the Republic of Ireland at Under-15 and Under-18 levels.
Originally a wing-back, he’s earned recognition from observers as a versatile talent capable of adapting across multiple roles.
“Everyone at Arsenal is excited to welcome Victor to the club in the near future,” concludes the announcement.
“The transfer is subject to the competition of regulatory processes.”
Ozhianvuna’s development is being carefully managed, with all 13 of his league appearances this season coming as a substitute.
He’s accumulated minutes equivalent to two full matches but is still awaiting his first league goal.
Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal continue to integrate youth into the squad while balancing the pressure for immediate results.
The current team includes players who joined at different stages of their growth, from 15-year-old Max Dowman to Cristhian Mosquera, who arrived shortly after turning 21.
Bukayo Saka, Ethan Nwaneri, and Myles Lewis-Skelly all broke into the senior team as teenagers.
