Arsenal in shock move for Liverpool star in what would be the wildest transfer of the summer

A shocking report has linked Arsenal with a potential transfer involving a Liverpool star.

Despite the setback in signing Watkins, Mikel Arteta still has a forward high on his transfer wishlist for the summer.

One potential target has now emerged.

According to a report via Transfermarkt, Liverpool might consider selling Diogo Jota for the right price this summer.

Further reports suggest that Arsenal might be interested in acquiring Jota to address a problematic position in their squad.

Jota could be the solution to Arteta’s forward issues, given his impressive Premier League career with Wolves and Liverpool.

He first made a name for himself at Wolves before Liverpool signed him for £45 million.

Jota, 28, has scored 64 goals for Liverpool and has eight goals to his name this season.

The Portuguese forward is more than just a poacher, as he has a remarkable ability to score with his head despite being only 5 ft 10.

Arsenal is expected to prioritize signing a forward in the summer after Arteta expressed his ‘disappointment’ at not securing a No.9 last month.

“We had a clear intention to explore opportunities to improve our squad with players that can impact it,” he said.

“We haven’t achieved it, so we are disappointed in that sense but as well we are very aware that we only want to bring certain kind of players and we have to be very disciplined with that as well.

“When you try your best and after you don’t achieve it, there are things to learn. Nobody knows whether it is better to have done it or not. We’ll know probably at the end of the season.”
