Arsenal have agreed to a total package worth approximately €80 million (£70 million) for the prolific 27-year-old, with around €10 million tied to performance-based bonuses.
It’s still uncertain whether Gyokeres will travel to Singapore with the rest of the squad this weekend, but both parties are reportedly keen to have the deal wrapped up before Arsenal face AC Milan on Wednesday.
The North London club have been monitoring Gyokeres for several months, alongside other striker options such as RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, who has been a target in the last two transfer windows.
Gyokeres has emerged as one of Europe’s elite forwards during his time at Sporting, leading the club to a domestic double last season.
He’s scored an astonishing 97 goals in 102 appearances for the Portuguese side, including six goals in eight Champions League matches.
Arsenal have accelerated their transfer activity in recent weeks, securing deals for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and midfielders Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard.
The club is also expected to confirm the signings of Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera and Chelsea attacker Noni Madueke, while negotiations continue for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
