Mikel Arteta to become highest-paid manager in Arsenal history

Arsenal is preparing to present Mikel Arteta with a lucrative contract extension that could rank him among England’s top-earning managers.

As Arteta approaches the last year of his current deal, the Daily Mail reports that the Gunners are poised to propose a significant long-term agreement.

The North London outfit is expected to offer a hefty wage boost, positioning him as one of the Premier League’s best-compensated managers.

Currently, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola is the league’s top earner with an annual salary of £20 million (€23 million/$25 million).

Arteta’s new contract is projected to approach Guardiola’s earnings, a substantial increase from his current £9 million yearly salary.

Arteta, a former Spanish national player, has elevated Arsenal to an elite level, narrowly missing the Premier League championship and securing second place just behind Manchester City. He was also honored as the Best Premier League Coach at the Global Soccer Awards.

Formal negotiations with the 42-year-old manager have yet to commence, but are expected to start after his vacation, alongside sporting director Edu.
