Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has ‘liked’ a post on Instagram which confirmed the news of Graham Potter’s sacking.
Potter was dismissed on Sunday after less than seven months in the role after a very poor run of results, with the team 11th in the Premier League.
During his short spell in charge at Stamford Bridge, he froze out 33-year-old striker Aubameyang, who has not appeared for the Blues since February.
He was last spotted out in Barcelona, joining the club’s celebrations after they beat Real Madrid just two weeks ago.
Former Arsenal skipper Aubameyang only signed for Chelsea from Barcelona last summer but looks set to leave west London at the end of the campaign.
Aubameyang seemed to enjoy Potter’s sacking, hitting ‘like’ on the Instagram post which confirmed the former Brighton manager’s exit.
The Gabon international had the chance to leave Chelsea on loan in the January window but rejected a move to Los Angeles FC.
Meanwhile, Bruno Saltor will take interim charge of Chelsea as they return to football action on Tuesday against Liverpool.
A statement from the club read: ‘Chelsea FC has announced that Graham Potter has departed the club. Graham has agreed to collaborate with the club to facilitate a smooth transition.
‘In his time with the club, Graham has taken us to the quarter final of the Champions League, where we will face Real Madrid. Chelsea would like to thank Graham for all his efforts and contribution and wish him well for the future.’
More statement from co-controlling owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali said: ‘On behalf of everyone at the club, we want to thank Graham sincerely for his contribution to Chelsea.

‘We have the highest degree of respect for Graham as a coach and as a person. He has always conducted himself with professionalism and integrity and we are all disappointed in this outcome.
‘Along with our incredible fans, we will all be getting behind Bruno and the team as we focus on the rest of the season. We have 10 Premier League games remaining and a Champions League quarter final ahead.
‘We will put every effort and commitment into every one of those games so that we can end the season on a high.’
